First look at our new kitchen!

I know...a perfectly fine sink...but we just did not get along...

We bought our house 1 -1/2 years ago. The first thing I said when I walked in was...I love it BUT-those
countertops have to go (and a few other things that I will show you on another day). These green countertops and I are not and were never friends...I was sooo happy the day they came out.

While I was at it...I decided to get rid of the tile too!

Our son had a blast doing the demo. He literally did all of the tile demo for us! It was great watching him
come to life while getting to contribute so much!

The guys putting in the NEW sink!!!!

Here she is! Isn't she beautiful! If it is possible to have love for a sink, I am in love! I love my new faucet too!
The countertops are butcher block...you guessed it-all from IKEA. I went with subway tile which I love as well, in this picture it is not grouted yet. We went with a dark grey grout...which you will get a peek at the finished project when... my friend Tara from between you and me comes to photograph our house...(time to clean every inch!)

I am so happy with my new kitchen...When we moved in the cabinets were awful and we (my mom and I) redid them. It took a year to get to this part of the project...int she pretty! The lazysusan I painted...and will hopefully start offering on ETSY....as soon as I get back from vacation! Hope you enjoyed the first peek into our home!

Love and Rennovations-Tracey

  7. Great job friend!!! Giving me inspiration, I am so trying to talk Kevin into that sink and coutnertops for almost a year....I think I may be there. He can't understand why we woudl get a kitchen from IKEA, when he worked at a custom cabinetry palce. But since they laid him off he is more open...God is good!! :] Can't wait to see more....

  8. Tracey,
Your kitchen is beautiful. Please share with me how you did your cabinets. I have the same ones and I have been wanting to paint them white, but wasn't sure how they would look. Now that I see yours, I feel confident that I would be happy with them.. Did you sand them, then paint and what type of paint did you use?
    Thank you!! Christy Rose cbrose1@hotmail.com
